During Pro Home Writers’ upcoming two hour class on Troubleshooting Your Scenes on May 20th, writers will learn the common mistakes they can make, advanced scene writing techniques like sequels and turning points, and have an open Q+A with me, Aigner, on how to fix their broken scenes, all pulling for my years as an editor and published author. There is also a 30 minute portion of class reserved for performing an active scene exercise to pinpoint the issues in student’s work in real time, where they can get help from an editor or where their scene is falling a part.
Ready to fix the building blocks of your story?
This class is designed to be impactful, actionable, and leave you with a grander understanding of scenes and what you can do with them on the page. This class will come with a guide of additional resources, exercises, and what was covered during the class.
Who Am I?
If you’re new to the blog, I’m Aigner Loren Wilson, a Hugo Award winning editor for my work as a senior fiction editor with Strange Horizons and a trip Ignyte Award nominated writer. I’m a systematic storyteller that combines creative intuition, authorial intent, and deep story knowledge to help writers of all levels publish great stories that are well told and original. I’ve taught through Clarion West, HerStory, and Teachable. My writing craft articles have appeared and been featured in Writer’s Digest, The Writer Magazine, Better Humans, and more.
If you have a question about the class, please drop a comment! I’m excited to work with writers on their stories and talk about scenes—a topic I love so much.
